As word is spreading among family and friends, that 2017 is the year we’re finally going on the adventure we always talked about, we keep getting asked the $64,000 question…
So where is it you’re going?
So here is the answer. We’re re-visiting many favourite places we’ve either visited or worked before mixed with a liberal sprinkling of places we always wanted to go. Who doesn’t have a bucket list right?
The plan is to travel light but, just how light is still under discussion. How light can we go? The early experiences are sure to pair down what we’re carrying. The online tips and advice from other nomads have been invaluable but, honestly, we’re not yet convinced you can travel the world with three t-shirts and one pair of convertible walking trousers.
We’re guessing we will learn the wisdom of such advice pretty quickly.
So, the itinerary so far involves planned trips covering about 60,000 miles through these countries:
India, Nepal, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, China, Japan, Phillipines, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, USA, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
We’ll add other adventures as we progress and, who knows, the journey may last longer than planned.
This blog is keeping a promise to family and friends that we’ll do our best to share the fun.
And we promise we’ll come back and not settle in Hoi An. Super tempting though that sounds!
Very exciting… daughter Kate just got back from Costa Rica. Loved it. She said the people are great and the animals are even better 🙂
I’ll keep on reading.

Thanks Peter. We hope to make it worth reading, it’ll be a tad left field as befits our age. John
