Karon is a fifty-something former academic with a passion for politics, travel and books. Born in Hanover she lived in Germany and Malaysia as a child before her family returned home to Liverpool. Studying geography at university only intensified the wanderlust that has now taken flight in our round the world retirement ‘gap’ year.

Born in Manchester (UK), John too is a – slightly more vintage – fifty something former university academic. His consuming passion is photography. Not just the making of, but reading, writing, printing and talking about photographs. When not immersed in this passion, he loves to crank up the volume on all genres of music and read about art.
